SunnyDay respects your privacy. This policy describes how information is handled when you use SunnyDay.

Information Stored on Your Device

SunnyDay stores your exposure records, preferences, notification settings, and skin tone selection locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

Health Data (Apple HealthKit)

SunnyDay reads Time in Daylight data and outdoor Workouts from Apple HealthKit, and writes Time in Daylight samples for sessions you record. This data is stored encrypted on your device by Apple HealthKit. We never transmit your health data off your device, and we never use it for advertising or marketing. Apple’s HealthKit guidelines prohibit developers from selling or sharing health data with third parties.

Location Data

SunnyDay uses your location to fetch weather and UV data from Apple WeatherKit. Your location is sent to Apple for this purpose. Apple states that this data is not associated with your identity and is not tracked between requests. For more detail, see Apple Weather & Privacy.

We also store your last known location on your device so the app can display weather information when it next opens. This stored location is not transmitted to any server other than Apple WeatherKit.

Apple Platform Services

As part of running on the App Store, Apple may collect crash reports, diagnostics, and aggregated usage analytics. This data is anonymized by Apple and is only shared with us if you opt in via Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers. Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple; we do not receive your payment information. For more about Apple’s data practices, see Apple Privacy.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Tracking

The Balance section of SunnyDay includes links to retailers (e.g., for vitamins and supplements). When you tap “Purchase at [retailer]”, you leave SunnyDay and are taken to the retailer’s website.

Those links are affiliate links provided through our partner CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction). When you tap a product link, CJ and the retailer may set cookies or use other tracking technologies on your device to attribute your visit and any purchase, so that we may earn a commission. We do not receive your name, payment information, or other personal data from the retailer or CJ.

You can avoid this tracking by not tapping product links in Balance.

Data We Do Not Collect

SunnyDay does not require an account. We do not collect email addresses, names, or other personal identifiers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not sell your personal information.

Children’s Privacy

SunnyDay is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or on our website. Continued use of SunnyDay after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
